Itaú Unibanco was the target of customer complaints this Thursday morning (3), with complaints involving problems accessing accounts, including through the bank’s application.
In a brief statement on Twitter, Itaú reported that “some customers are having problems with the statement of statement and current account balance. We apologize for the inconvenience and are correcting it as soon as possible”.
The bank did not say how long the regularization of access will take place or the reason for the problem.
According to online services monitoring website Downdetector, notifications from users with problems with Itaú accounts started to go up around 11 am. Around 12:20 pm, there were about 3,200 notifications registered by the bank’s customer website.
On Twitter, user Humberto Reis stated: “no access to the account through any bank channel, including telephone”. Other users have reported difficulty making payments through Pix.
In addition, according to reports, users who tried to access the bank’s service via their internet browser received an “error 500” message, with the server stating that it “is unable to process this request at the moment”. There are also problems in accessing the call center by phone.
The bank’s shares were up 0.8% at 12:37 pm ET, amid a rally in the financial sector. The Ibovespa showed a gain of 0.5%.
