METLEN joins forces again with Social Enterprise Knowl, advancing to the 2nd cycle of FemStem, helping women to strengthen their skills
Aiming to alleviate gender inequality in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) fields, METLEN Energy & Metals (“METLEN”) undertakes initiatives to support and empower women, who are still consistently underrepresented today. Despite progress in recent years, women still make up just 28% of the global STEM workforce, which poses barriers to their career advancement and creates a significant gender gap in leadership positions.
METLEN is once again joining forces with Social Enterprise Knowl, moving into the 2nd cycle of FemStem, helping women to enhance their skills and stay at the cutting edge of technological developments.
The new cycle, lasting 6 months, with a focus on the STEM fields, highlights the need for continuous training and specialization. The program will offer 30 hours of training and consulting, focusing on skills required in the modern market, such as soft skills, hard skills and digital skills. In addition, services such as resume development, simulated interviews with experienced HR personnel, as well as opportunities to directly interface with the labor market will be provided.
The 1st cycle of the FemStem program, we gathered effectively, as it helped 30 women to realize their potential, but also to improve their professional prospects. The effects were immediate: 14 have already managed to find work, 8 are continuing their studies, while the rest are in the process of training or looking for work.
It is worth noting that 30% of the beneficiaries received the professional certification they wanted, with a full scholarship, while the social value of the program, with an SROI index of 2.81 euros for every 1 euro of investment, strengthens the social and economic dynamics for both the beneficiaries , as well as for the community.
The program is offered free of charge and is part of METLEN’s Corporate Social Responsibility actions, supporting the Global Sustainable Development Goals, such as Zero Poverty (1), Gender Equality (5), Decent Work & Economic Development (8), and Less Inequalities (10 ).
