Stimulated by the release of mandatory masks in closed environments in Rio de Janeiro this Monday (7), owners of bars and restaurants are preparing a movement to ask for the total flexibility of measures in the country.
Paulo Solmucci, president of Abrasel, says that the sector would only like to wait a week after Carnival to verify that there would not be a new spike in Covid cases.
“We want to launch a campaign for Brazil to accompany countries that have already removed all types of restrictions. We are celebrating the movement in Rio, which took us by surprise. We understand that the time has come for this measure to be extended to Brazil. positive for the economy as a whole and for our sector in particular”, says Solmucci.
Abrasel must take the request to all states and more than 400 municipalities where it has members.
The Rio de Janeiro Committee to Combat Covid-19 guided this Monday (7) the release of the use of masks in closed environments in the state capital as it takes effect with the publication of a decree and makes the city the first capital country to abolish the use of protection in the pandemic.
