Facebook and Instagram announce the removal of 1 million posts, comments and stories made in Brazil with serious misinformation about Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic until now.
According to the company, the contents are excluded when they can put people’s lives at risk, such as statements denying the existence of the pandemic and announcements that the vaccine causes death.
The criteria for identifying false claims are jointly established with the World Health Organization and other authorities, and updated as new facts about the disease emerge, says Facebook.
