Prices of basic food, detergents and cleaners are falling – The list of products has already been sent to the Ministry of Development – Examples
With prices lower by up to 17%, basic consumer goods such as food, detergents and cleaners will be sold on supermarket shelves in the next two months.
According to the Free Press, in the first phase lower prices were announced for approximately 70 products. The list of products has already been sent to the ministry Development for further control and in the coming days the official announcements are expected to be made regarding the companies participating in the measure, as well as the codes with the discount rates.
The products and the reduced prices
The biggest price reduction, amounting to 17.2%is recorded in tomato paste and specifically in tomato passata of a well-known brand, which from 1.16 euros is now sold at 0.96 euros per 520 gram package.
Also available at a lower price olive oil of a large company from 14.30 euros to 13.40 euros per liter, with the percentage of the reduction being set at 6.3%.
In the list of products that will be sold cheaper in the next two months are also included dairy productswith the percentage of the discount set at 6%-7%.
For example, one liter milk highly pasteurized by a well-known company that is currently sold at 1.67 euros per liter, with a reduction of around 6%, its price will be set at 1.57 euros and if the reduction is 7% it will further decrease to 1.55 euros per liter.
Accordingly, the yoghurtthree packages of 200 grams, which costs 3.65 euros, with a permanent reduction of 6%, will be sold at 3.43 euros and with 7% to 3.39 euros.
PDO slicea 400-gram package, whose price in supermarket refrigerators is 6.75 euros, with a 6% reduction will drop to 6.35 and with 7% to 6.28 euros.
Similar moves have been made by companies that produce standardized foods, such as rice and flour as well as cleaners and personal hygiene itemsdespite the fact that they have already dropped prices since March, following a 30% “cutter” in promotions with a corresponding drop in shelf price.
For example, a floor cleaner of a large multinational, from the original price of 3.04 euros, is now sold at 2.78 euros, i.e. 8.6% cheaper.
