Navigation on the Tietê-Paraná waterway, which was paralyzed by the lack of rain in the region last year, will resume next Tuesday (15), according to the Waterway Department of the State of São Paulo.
The return will happen gradually and should reach fullness at the end of March. Initially, the draft, which is the distance between the tip of the ship’s hull and the water level, will be 2.4 meters.
According to the agency, the stretch most affected by the drought was the Nova Avanhandava boulder, in the city of Buritama (SP), an important outlet for Brazilian grain production.
The decision was taken at a meeting with representatives of bodies such as ONS (National Electric System Operator), Ana (National Water and Sanitation Agency), Ministry of Infrastructure and Civil House.
In 2020, the waterway totaled 2.1 million tons of transported cargo. In the previous year, before the pandemic, the movement was 2.5 million tons in the São Paulo stretch, says the department.
Unimed-Rio will readjust by 133% from April the value of the health plan offered to veterinarians linked to the state.
According to the operator, the readjustment is one of the regulatory mechanisms used to seek contractual balance in the renewal of the policy. The percentage is defined based on a technical analysis that takes into account factors such as the care cost generated by the portfolio.
“In the aforementioned case, the readjustment presented is even lower than that indicated by the actuarial analysis and what the contract between the parties allows, given the accident rate of the contract in the last 12 months”, it says in a note.
The operator’s movements in Rio de Janeiro have been observed by the market in recent months. In February, QV Benefits in Health, which had Unimed-Rio as operator, won the bid to offer a health plan for TJRJ employees but was eliminated for not presenting the accredited network of hospitals in the municipality.
