The green transition with the simultaneous improvement of resilience is the great and extremely difficult bet of the next decades, said the Minister of Environment and Energy Thodoros Skylakakis announcing today the start of the work of the Green Deal 2024 conference organized by the Technical Chamber of Greece.

“The climate crisis came more violently than what was expected based on climate models,” the minister said. “We saw it in our country, we see it now in Valencia. And the fiscal resources to deal with this multiple challenge are limited both in Greece and in the EU,” he added.

Mr. Skylakakis described as priorities the emphasis on resilience, increasing the efficiency of activities and the way in which infrastructure is built, seriousness in dialogue and the technical proficiency offered by the TEE.

“It is the age of science, with technology and with collective action and not with political bubbles we will face the challenge”, concluded the minister.
