New wind farms start to be built in Rhodope, Fokida and Argolis with the supply of 19 new Nordex wind turbines
The construction of three new wind farms, with a total capacity of approximately 100MW, is being started by PPC Renewables in Greece, as the organic development of the RES portfolio for the PPC Group is proceeding dynamically.
New wind farms start construction in Rhodope, Fokida and Argolis with the supply of 19 new wind turbines of Nordex, type N149/5.X.
Upon completion of the projects, which expected within the first half of 2026the annual expected output of the three parks will exceed 280 GWhpreventing the emission of more than 142,000 tons of CO2.
Dynamic development of RES portfolio with the target of 11.8GW in 2027
PPC Group is moving forward dynamically with the development of new RES projects, as new wind and photovoltaic plants are added to the company’s existing projects, which currently have an installed capacity of approximately 5.5GW.
At this moment, PPC Group has new RES projects under construction or ready to start construction with a capacity of approximately 3.8 GW. Among the major RES projects being built is the 550MW photovoltaic project-station, located within the old lignite mines of the wider area of Ptolemaida and one of the largest solar energy projects in Europe. The start of construction of a new wind park, with an installed capacity of 140 MW, in eastern Romania was also recently announced.
PPC Group is developing its RES portfolio in Greece and Southeast Europe, both through organic growth and through partnerships and acquisitions. The completion of the sale and purchase agreement with Evryo Group, which was owned by funds controlled by Macquarie Asset Management, was recently announced for the acquisition of a significant RES portfolio in Romania which includes projects with a total installed capacity of 629MW in operation and approximately 145MW under development.
Also, it was recently announced the conclusion of a Cooperation Framework Agreement with the Kopelouzo and Samara Groups for the acquisition of a RES portfolio in operation, with a total installed capacity of 66.6MW, as well as the acquisition of a RES portfolio under development of up to 1.7GW and its joint development .
Finally, it is noted that PPC Renewables is a 100% subsidiary company of PPC and invests in the power of nature, through the production of energy from RES and energy storage. In addition to the large photovoltaic and wind projects it builds, the company innovates in the Southeast European market through projects that cover the entire range of renewable energy sources (wind, sun, water, geothermal and biomass).
