“Let’s find another “fool”. There is no way the BRICS will replace the US dollar in international trade and any country that tries should forget America,” Trump said.
US President-elect Donald Trump today demanded that BRICS member states pledge not to create a new currency or support another currency to replace the US dollar or face 100% tariffs.
“We demand a commitment from these countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency, nor support any other currency to replace the mighty US dollar, or face 100% tariffs and expect to lose sales to the wonderful US economy.” Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social.
“Let’s find another “fool”. There is no way the BRICS will replace the US dollar in international trade, and any country that tries should forget America.”
The BRICS nations, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, have begun studies to create a common currency as a way to move away from dollar and “increasing payment options.”
But Trump said abandoning the dollar would also mean “goodbye to the wonderful US economy.”
