Thousands of households can claim a 100% subsidy of up to 35,000 euros for energy “armoring” work on their home through Execonomy 2025.

Replacement of windows, installation of thermal insulation, improvement of heating/cooling systems are included in the “menu” of the new subsidy cycle.

Interest-free loans are provided for the categories of beneficiaries who need equity. Within the next few hours, a special program will follow for the supply of a heat pump.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy, after Execonomou 2025, the guide of which will be published in the next few days, also announces funding for the purchase and installation of heat pumps through a special program.

Special financing program for the purchase of a heat pump

With the indications so far and shortly before the official announcements, the subsidy for the purchase of a heat pump will range from 50 to 60% and there will be no income criteria.

Heat pumps are considered the greenest and most economical way of heating, as they give the highest efficiency with the least energy use.

Only 25% of the heat produced is attributed to electricity.

The remaining 75% concerns thermal energy drawn from the environment. If a subfloor is installed, it also gives excellent cooling performance.

Also, if connected to a boiler, it provides hot water for use and therefore eliminates the use of a water heater, for those who do not have a solar water heater.

Apartment owners will be able to become autonomous from the central system of the apartment building, by installing this system that is placed on the terrace and connected to the radiators.

The heat pump subsidy will be granted through a special program of the Ministry of Environment which is expected to be announced within the next few hours.

Who will be subsidized at 100%

Now, as far as “Excoionamo 2025” is concerned, it places special emphasis with separate incentives on supporting families with a member/members with disabilities, those affected by Thessaly, earthquake victims of Arkalochori, families with four dependent children and vulnerable households, both in the form of an increased rate of grants and a special budget.

Depending on the category the beneficiary falls into, the percentage of financial support starts at 50%, while in some of the cases for which there are special provisions, even 100% of the investment cost is covered and it concerns vulnerable households.

The maximum eligible budget of energy upgrade interventions with VAT per beneficiary application cannot exceed:
a) the product of 1.20 euros multiplied by the total estimated annual primary energy savings (kWh), as derived from the 1st Energy Performance Certificate, b) 35,000 euros.

For the beneficiaries who will join “Excoionamo 2025”, covering the participation itself with a loan, the interest rate of the loan agreement, for the needs of the program, is fixed and subsidized at 100%.

Which interventions are financed – The evaluation criterion

The heating degree days will be used as a criterion for evaluating the energy upgrade proposals that will be submitted to the program, with priority given to colder areas.

Interventions related to: Replacement of frames, installation/upgrade of thermal insulation, heating/cooling system upgrade, domestic hot water system using Renewable Energy Sources, other energy saving interventions, such as the installation of a smart management system (smart home), which contributes to energy saving.

The detailed terms and conditions of inclusion are specified, in detail, in the Guide to “Save 2025”, which will be published within the next few days, in order to then open the program for the submission of applications by interested parties.

Funding applications will only be submitted electronically and compulsorily through the Information System of the program’s official website.
