On the website of the Hellenic Development Bank (www.hdb.gr) the Invitations for expressions of interest to the Banks for the new Programs “Spiti my” II and “Upgrading my Home” were posted, after the signing of the relevant Financing Agreement by the competent Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis and the CEO of HDB, Ismini Papakyrillou.

The My Home II Program, with a total loan budget of €2 billion, and the Upgrade My Home Program, with a total loan budget of €400 million, are co-financed with resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

The “My House” II program aims to facilitate access to the first home market, especially for young and vulnerable social groups, through low-interest loans with particularly favorable terms. Special care has been taken for parents of three and many children, where the loan is 75% interest-free, for the disabled and for parents of two children in specific municipalities of the Prefecture of Evros. An expansion of the age criteria is also foreseen, with the limit rising to 50 years – from 39 in “My House” I – but also an expansion of the income criteria, with the amount reaching 36,000 annual income for a family of 4. Two additional changes in relation to “My House” I are related to the fact that the income that is counted is that of the last three years and not just the previous year, while there is no strict time limit for presenting a specific apartment to the bank. The new program concerns properties with a contract value of up to 250,000 euros, up to 150 sq.m., built up to 2007, and the amount of the loan can reach 190,000 euros – from 150,000 that was in the previous program – covering up to 90% of contract. The duration of the loan can be from 3 to 30 years.

The “Upgrade my Home” program focuses on the energy upgrade of homes and is open to all natural persons-owners of a home, primary or secondary. The bank loan interest rate subsidy for all beneficiaries reaches 100%,

that is, it is an interest-free loan. Funded costs are for thermal insulation, heating-cooling systems, solar water heater, window replacement, green roof, installation of PV/small wind turbines and other RES, as well as wider installation works. The amount of the loan can reach up to 25,000 euros and its duration ranges from 3 to 7 years.

The two programs are expected to be available through the commercial banks that will participate in them, from mid-January 2025.
