At 1.5 minutes per kilowatt hour was determined the subsidy on electricity tariffs for January, announced today the Ministry of Environment and Energy, with the result that the final consumer price is close to 14 cents.

In particular, the subsidies for household tariffs and for all main and non-main residence benefits, without income criteria and regardless of provider, are structured as follows:

· For monthly consumptions up to 500kWh, the aid is set at 15 Euro/MWh or 1.5 min/kWh. This category occupies 90% of households in Greece.

It is noted that the subsidies concern consumers who are contracted to variable electricity tariffs.

· In households which are included in the Social Household Tariff (CTO), the subsidy amounts to 35 Euro/MWh or 3.5 cents/kWh for the total consumption.

The total cost of the aid for January amounts to 20.9 million. euro.

It is pointed out by the Ministry of the Interior that the weighted average price of the “green” tariff for the three largest providers in Low Voltage market share (above 80% of household consumption), including the January subsidy, amounts to 140.3 Euro/MWh or 14, 03 cents/kWh and is slightly reduced from the level of the previous month.
