Passenger traffic at the Athens International Airport (IAA) soared in 2024, registering a 13.1% increase compared to 2023.

According to a statement by “Eleftherios Venizelos” and based on statistics, 31.85 million passengers were transported last year (28.17 million in 2023).

Both domestic and international passenger traffic at the country’s largest airport exceeded 2023 levels by 7.3% and 15.7%, respectively.

During last December passenger traffic reached 2.13 million passengers, an increase of 14.5% compared to 2023. It is noted that both domestic and international passenger traffic exceeded 2023 levels by 6.2 % and 18.1%, respectively.

The number of flights also increased

The number of flights at Athens International Airport for 2024 reached 268,301, recording an increase of 11.0% compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Both domestic and international flights increased by 5.1% and 15.5%, respectively, in relation to 2023.
