In EUR 20 million from EUR 10 million The program budget is increasing ‘Housing and work for homeless’ implemented by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family in collaboration with municipalities in order to secure a social home in many categories of vulnerables who are in noble or precision.

In addition to housing, at the expense of Ykissos, the program enables the training and the possibility of training and fully subsidized work for 12 monthsbut also the subsidy of beneficiaries in order to create their own business.

In particular, the program extends from 42 to 89 municipalitieswith the final implementing agencies currently reaching 94 and more beneficiaries. It is recalled that by the previous decision of Ykissos, in addition to the homeless, two new categories of beneficiaries were included:

– families living in allocated houses from the State and
– households living in precarious housing conditions

The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zacharaki He said: “The central pursuit of the housing policy of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family is to ensure a decent social residence for our vulnerable people, who are unable to meet a completely basic need. For this reason we are constantly improving and expanding the relevant programs. We increase the money we give to increase the number of beneficiaries. “Housing and Working” in addition to a roof that fully ensures Hykissos, offers work and even the ability to finance it to create their own business. We have doubled the budget to € 20 million and multiply the amounts we will spend on municipalities. We are working together to consolidate the institution throughout the country. “

At 400 euros the rental expense for triple and large families

The program provides for increased rental costs that are tailored to the number of members of each household:

– For one -person households, the maximum rent is increased from 250 to 300 euros.
– For two members households, from 300 to 350 euros.
– And for households with three or more members, from 350 to 400 euros.

In addition, household expenses are reinforced by 200 euros and are formed:

– from 1,000 to 1,200 euros for single -member household,
– from 1,100 to 1,300 for a two -member household and
– from 1,300 to 1,500 euros for three members or more.

The same increase and the same amounts are applied for costs of communal and DEKO bills, while for the first time funds for repairs and energy certificates are provided, offering a substantial solution to the issue of finding appropriate housing.

For the new category of expenses for repairs and issuance of energy certificates, in order to tackle the problem of housing in the context of the program implementation, the amounts are shaped as follows:

– up to 900 euros for single -member household,
– up to 1,000 euros for two members household and
– up to 1,200 euros for three members.

At the same time, entertainment costs for beneficial households – up to € 30 for single -wheelers and up to 50 euros for larger ones are being imported – recognizing that the quality of life is not limited to housing.

Training and work subsidy for 12 months – window and for creating a personal business

Specifically it is provided:

– Labor subsidy to businesses – employers in the country for up to twelve (12) months.

– Subsidy of employee insurance contributions and employer for up to twelve (12) months after completion of employment subsidy

– Employee and employer insurance contributions for up to twelve (12) months for new jobs.

– Subsidy for creating a business or self -employment or the creation of a rural or livestock unit. The subsidy is required to submit a business plan and approval it by the Management Authority. The amount of funding is set for the subsidy of insurance contributions for up to twelve (12) months, rental space, purchase of capital equipment and operating expenses, totaling up to eight thousand (8,000) euros.

– Subsidy for acquiring professional skills up to the amount of one thousand (1,000) euros in total per benefit household for expenditure, in particular, acquisition of licenses for the profession, learning and acquiring driving, learning and certification of Greek or English, computer.

– Integration, upon application, to available counseling, training, training and employment/ promotion programs in work by DBA.

– Integration, upon request, to second -chance schools

The categories of beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of the upgraded program are:

– Families and people hosted in transitional hostels or hypnotics.

– Women victims of violence hosted in women’s hostels.

– People living in social reintegration structures for the therapeutic programs for addicts.

– Households recorded by social services as homeless, either on the road or in inappropriate accommodation.

– Families and people residing in public sector bodies.

Since the start of the program, there has been an increased interest and response from the municipalities, resulting in the doubling of the program budget from 10 million to EUR 20 million. In particular, the participating municipalities have increased from 42 to 89 and either in inter -municipal schemes or in cooperation with other bodies or alone, they have formed 41 shapes that will implement the program. The implementation bodies were included in 3 social welfare centers (Attica, Central Macedonia and Crete) and for the first time OKANA and the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki participate.

Support support and innovations

Psychosocial support of beneficiaries is strengthened as the proportion of social workers from 1 per 20 to 1 per 15 households is reduced, ensuring more personalized care. The Peer Supporter, an innovation that follows European standards, is also introduced, utilizing the experience of people who have experienced stunning. In this way, the program becomes even more human, strengthening beneficiaries through solidarity and personal understanding.

At the same time, social workers have increased for the psychosocial support of the beneficiaries of each plan. In particular, the social worker is reduced to 1 per 15 per 15 beneficiary households by 20 by 20, and adds the possibility of funding two group sessions per month for social workers, promoting the cooperation and optimal implementation of the program.
