Bicycle manufacturer Caloi announced this week the re-launch in the Brazilian market of the Mobylette, a motor vehicle that was a sales success in Brazil mainly in the 1970s and 1980s.

“The legend is back”, says the slogan of the product launch campaign. The suggested price is R$ 9,199.00.

Unlike the old gasoline powered version, the new Mobylette comes in an electric version. “In a sustainable world, modernity requires new commitments”, says the company.

Mobylette is available for purchase at Mercado Livre. The forecast is that, as of the 28th, the product will also be available in “bike shops” across the country.

The model is equipped with a 350W (Watts) motor, which can be activated either by pedaling movement or by the integrated accelerator. The battery, installed under the seat, offers a range of up to 30 kilometers.

“Mobylette has marked generations and its memory has remained alive in Brazilian culture. Now we bring Mobylette back to the streets, but in a new way, with a more modern urban look, in the electric version, redefining the future of mobility”, said Eduardo Rocha, Caloi’s marketing director, in a statement.
