Laying interest rates in January were reduced and deposits remained unchanged, resulting in the margin between them.

More specifically, according to Bank of Greece data, the average weighted interest rate on new deposits remained unchanged to 0.45%, while the corresponding interest rate was reduced to 5.10%. This development resulted in the interest rate margin between new deposits and loans to reduce to 4.65 percentage points (4.65%) from 4.75% last month.

In particular, The mid -day interest rates of one day of households and businesses remained unchanged at 0.03% and 0.16% respectively.

The average deposit rate of up to 1 year of households remained almost unchanged to 1.64%, while the corresponding deposit rate decreased by 24 basis points and stood at 2.32%.

In the sponsorship leg The average weighted interest rate of all new loans to households and businesses decreased by 10 basis points and stood at 5.10%.

In particular, the average interest rate on consumer loans without a specified duration (category including credit card loans, open loans and over -running accounts) decreased by 16 basis points and stood at 14.88%.

The average interest rate on consumer loans with a specific duration and floating rate decreased by 12 basis points and was 11.77%, while the average interest rate on floating rate loans increased by 31 basis points to 3.90%.

The average interest rate on business loans without a specified duration decreased by 43 basis points and stood at 5.45%. The corresponding interest rate on business loans remained almost unchanged at 7.20%.

The average interest rate on new business loans with a specific duration and floating rate decreased by 14 basis points and stood at 4.54%. The average interest rate on the expiry of a floating rate to small and medium -sized enterprises (SMEs) decreased by 5 basis points and stood at 4.92%.

As far as interest rates are concerned with the amount of the loan, it is noted that the average interest rate for loans of up to 250,000 euros remained unchanged at 4.96%, for loans from 250.001 to 1 million euros decreased by 8 basis points to 5.01%, while loans above EUR 16.
