The Ministry of Development set a 3% ceiling on the annual increase in commercial leases
“We support entrepreneurship by reducing taxes, contributions and business costs,” the Minister of Development said, Takis Theodorikakosin the presentation of the annual Greek Trade Exhibition 2024 of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ERC) and made a special reference to the 3% ceiling set by the Ministry of Development in the annual increase in commercial leases. Mr Theodorikakos pointed out that significant changes to the global economy create new trade challenges, which is the largest employer in the country with over 230,000 businesses and about 700,000 workers.
“The answer to these challenges is the new productive model we are shaping, focusing on manufacturing, industry and enhancing the competitiveness of the Greek economy as a whole,” the Minister of Development noted. “The increase in the competitiveness of Greek businesses in the context of the productive transformation of our economy leads to higher incomes, reinforcing the purchasing power of the citizens and essentially supporting Greek trade,” he added.
In this context, it highlighted the importance of the new development law, which provides for financial incentives totaling 900 million euros, with a focus on border and economically weaker areas. “Our goal is to create new, sustainable jobs across the country, thereby enhancing the income and purchasing power of the citizens,” he said.
The Minister of Development emphasized that “strong production means strong trade, stable jobs and a better future for the younger generation. The development of industry and manufacturing is the best security for our country, as every factory in border areas means that thousands of young children will create their future there. “
