The UK has fined national lottery operator Camelot more than €3 million for errors in its app, one of which told 20,000 winners that the ticket had not been awarded.
Another flaw in the app includes the sale of duplicate tickets to more than 22 thousand players.
According to the Gambling Commission, responsible for the investigation and punishment, gamblers were harmed between 2016 and 2020.
Camelot will also lose its license to run the lottery after 28 years.
The Czech Allwyn, from billionaire Karel Komarek, who has oil and gas deals with the Russian government, should take over in 2024.
