According to a Financial Times report on Friday, China ‘Completely freezes’ the market liquefied natural gas from the US, because of Trump duties.

Imports of US LNG in China have stopped completely for more than 10 weeks, according to data available to the newspaper.

On Tuesday, China’s ambassador to Moscow said Beijing is planning to increase imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia.

He also said that the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline from Russia to China is under discussion, but the route has not yet been determined.

On March 10, Bloomberg reported that China has not received a single load of liquefied natural gas from the US for the last 40 days and there were no LNG tankers on the way to the country.

According to data from the US Ministry of Energy, countries with the largest imports of US LNG are:

France: 14.8%

UK: 12%

Spain: 11%

Netherlands: 9.8%

South Korea: 7.6%

Turkey: 5%

Poland: 3.3%

India: 3.2%
