The launch of the negotiation for the new multi-year budgetary framework of the European Union (2028-2034) and the planning of the new generation of projects will be at the heart of today’s meeting of the Governmental Council of Economic Policy (KYSIP), chaired by the Vice-President of the Government. Kostis Hatzidakisat 11am, at the Bodosaki Mansion.

According to sources from the Vice -President, the government is preparing for the negotiations that will begin. The aim is to make the best possible use of the financial tools of the new programming period. In addition, the government will claim funding with sufficient resources of basic development and social sectors, and critical public goods with multiplier benefits, such as defense shielding and energy interconnections. At the same time, it is promoting for the first time a common action plan at national, regional and local level, through the national strategy for regional and local development that the government’s presidency specializes and enriches so that funding tools can be used to address regional inequalities and local problems. The rapporteurs will be N. Papathanassis, Th. Kontogeorgis, M. Argyrou.

The KYSIP meeting will also be discussed, according to the same sources, the government planning for networks – road, energy, telecommunications and rail – and how it is reflected on the country’s map. The aim is to plan the new generation of projects needed to complete the country’s networks and infrastructure. “Greece is looking forward, interconnects all its areas, and covers the distances from the advanced countries of Europe,” they also underline the government’s vice -presidency. The rapporteurs, in this part, will be H. Dimas, S. Papastavrou, D. Papastergiou, K. Kyranakis.

KYSIPS includes Vice President of the Government Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of Infrastructure Christos Dimas, Minister of Energy and Environment Stavros Papastavrou, Minister of Development, Minister of Development Takis Shipping and Island Policy Vassilis Kikilias, Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogiannis, Minister of State Akis Skertsos, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanassis, Deputy Minister of Transport Costas Economics and Economics Thanos Petralias.

The Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou also participates in the KYSIP, but will be absent due to commitments.
