Spring leaves … The heating allowance comes: vice versa the time to pay the second installment of the heating allowance, after the first granted on December 23, 2024. The final amount each household will receive is essentially determined by the … meteorological service. This is because every beneficiary has received 60% of the aid he was theoretically appropriate, but the weather conditions that prevail are the ones that form the final amount.

The prolonged and particularly cold winter of 2025 significantly increased the need for heating, which in some areas will inflate the amounts of the final allowance. But in others with more sunshine the final amounts will shrink. But who thinks that the climate was a little hotter and the heavy winter prevailed? The National Meteorological Service. Where is the service, which will eventually determine how much money every household will see by paying the second installment of the heating allowance.

When will the second installment be paid and what determines the amount

In any case, the second installment of the heating allowance will be paid On Friday 30th of the month.

Especially in mountainous areas such as Florina, Kozani, as well as the mountains of Epirus, the final amount -and with the subscription of… EMY. is significantly enhanced compared to previous years.

In contrast, in areas with milder temperatures, such as Athens or the Cretethe amounts are lower, as the weather conditions were not such as to lead to increased fuel use.
The amounts granted as a subsidy are quite different and for one more reason: other money to collect anyone who “burns” electricity, otherwise anyone who consumes oil, other amounts are granted for gas and others for firewood.

It all starts with the amount of reference of the allowance amounting to three hundred and eighty (380) euros for electricity use, in three hundred sixty (360) euros for biomass use (pellets), in three hundred fifty (350) euros for use of thermal energy, or fifty -heating, Three hundred (300) euros for use of domestic combustion or oil (blue kerosene) or LPG, in accordance with twenty percent (20%) for each dependent child of the beneficiary.

What does this mean? That two houses, located in the same neighborhood, may be eligible for a completely different allowance because they use different heating.

For example, in K. Neurocopi of the Prefecture of Drama, which has a rate (gradual) of 1.27 and 1,855 inhabitants, where there is also the right to subsidy and for the use of pellets or firewood, the basic allowance for a household is shaped as follows, depending on the radiator:

  • Stream: 754 euros
  • Pellets: 714 euros
  • Firewood: 695 euros
  • Natural Gas: 645 euros
  • Oil: 595 euros

Respectively, in Holargoswhere neither firewood, pellets and climate coefficient is 0.54 are subsidized, the amounts are shaped as follows:

  • Power: 205 euros
  • Natural Gas: 176 euros
  • Oil: 162 euros

The role of EMY In forming the final amount

As mentioned above, the amount of heating allowance and the determination of the amount are used which express both climate and current weather conditions in the settlements of Greek territory, based on the calculation of the heating degree. These are an indicator of the severity of the climate and weather conditions of an area and therefore the energy consumption required for heating.

The climatic rates of the settlements of the Greek Territory (SK) are reflected in the list, while the rates of the settlements expressing current weather conditions are determined by the National Meteorological Service for the period October 2024 – March 2025.

These two elements in conjunction with the… postal code also determine the final amounts that the beneficiaries will receive.

In order to receive the second installment of the allowance, beneficiaries must know that fuel purchases should have been done within the intended period. Thus, the documents must be dated to 15/04/2025 and the market details have been registered on the platform by 30/04/2025.
