The Central Bank announced this Monday morning (28) that the economic-financial notes for the month of February will not be released throughout this week, as expected.
The postponement is due to the mobilization of BC servers, according to the president of Sinal (National Union of Central Bank Employees), Fabio Faiad.
“In due course, we will inform the dates of publication of the notes for the month of February 2022”, said the BC in a note, without commenting on the reason for the postponement.
The external sector statistics would be published this Monday (28), at 9:30 am, monetary and credit statistics on Wednesday (30) and fiscal statistics on Thursday (31), also at the same time.
With daily stoppages from 2 pm to 6 pm, the standard operation of BC servers has caused a series of delays in the monetary authority’s routine, especially in the disclosure of indicators.
In recent weeks, there has been a delay in the publication of exchange rate data, the Focus survey, the result of the pre-Copom questionnaire, the calculation of the daily ptax rate, in addition to interruptions in the preventive monitoring of Pix and SPB (Brazilian Payment System) .
In mobilization for salary readjustment and career restructuring, representatives of BC servers met with the president of the municipality, Roberto Campos Neto, last Saturday (26). However, they continue without an official proposal from the government.
In view of this, BC employees will participate in an assembly on the afternoon of this Monday (28) to deliberate on the possibility of an indefinite strike from April 1st. In this context, Campos Neto canceled his schedule of events in Campo Mourão, Paraná, and will remain in BrasÃlia.
In a press conference last week, the BC president said he respects the right of employees when asked about the possibility of a strike. “I know they have a huge sense of responsibility and that we have contingency plans in place in case something more severe happens,” he said.
The movement of BC servers is part of the national mobilization of the civil service for salary recomposition after President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) waved a raise for federal police officers, federal highway workers and prison guards. The amount available in the Budget to raise the remuneration of civil servants is R$ 1.7 billion.
