The new change in command of Petrobras, announced by the Bolsonaro government this Monday (28), is criticized by businessmen, but the name of Adriano Pires is praised.
For José Augusto de Castro, president of the AEB (foreign trade association), the exchange is political. He criticizes the turnaround in the administration in a short time. General Joaquim Silva e Luna took over in April last year.
“It’s a surprise to change a Petrobras president now, and the last one left for the same reason, which is the price of oil. There is no predictability”, says Castro, who considers Adriano Pires very competent for the post.
José Ricardo Roriz, president of Abiplast (a plastics industry association), points out that it is strange. “He [Adriano Pires] always defended the current Petrobras policy”, he says.
