On strike days, My INSS is down and makes rescheduling difficult

The Meu INSS website and app were offline on the morning of this Wednesday (30), the day the expert doctors’ strike began. With the digital service paralyzed, policyholders complain that they are unable to reschedule forensic examinations and other face-to-face procedures.

In addition to doctors, INSS (National Social Security Institute) servers have been on strike since last week, in the so-called Operation Blackout. Both categories claim a 19.9% ​​salary readjustment to replace the inflation accumulated since 2019, among other guidelines.

In tests carried out by sheet ​this Wednesday on several devices, through the website and the app, access to Meu INSS stopped shortly after login. Lawyers who work in social security processes report that the service has been in trouble since Monday.

Asked about the reasons for the problem and what the insured person should do, INSS and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security had not responded until 12:00 this Wednesday.

This morning there were reports of experts’ stoppage in the states of São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Sergipe. According to Fenasps (National Federation of Workers’ Unions in Health, Work, Welfare and Social Assistance), the strike of INSS servers reached 23 states and the Federal District.

Even with the strike, some professionals did not join and continue to attend normally. Therefore, Adriane Bramante, president of the IBDP (Brazilian Institute of Social Security Law), advises that the insured person should attend the agency on the day and time scheduled, so as not to run the risk of losing the benefit.

If Meu INSS is still out of order and the insured is not served, the IBDP advises the person to try to reschedule the procedure in person at the branch.

According to Francisco Eduardo Cardoso Alves, vice president of ANMP (National Association of Expert Doctors), the professionals decided to stop because there has been, so far, no signal from the government that the demands will be met.

“The government so far has not taken an attitude towards the category, which has been dissatisfied for more than a year, since we were forced to go back to work, in September 2020, when it still didn’t even have a vaccine”, says the server.

For Alves, the ideal would be for the policyholders to reschedule the inspection, so as not to miss the trip to the place, although it is not possible to know exactly where there will be a stoppage. “It was for guidance; I don’t know if the government is taking action.”
