After spending months in suspense about his possible candidacy, Luciano Hang announced that he will not run in this year’s elections.
The businessman did a live on social media this Wednesday (30) to communicate his decision.
“My party is Brazil. I will continue to fight to change our Brazil, but I will not be a politician,” said the owner of Havan. He says he gave up his candidacy to dedicate himself to his family and the more than 20,000 employees at his stores.
Last year, the businessman even published a poll on social networks asking which name he should put on the ballot if he ran for the Senate from Santa Catarina. In addition to Veio da Havan, he also suggested Loro José, Capitão Brasil and others.
“It won’t be this time. But who knows, this is a see you soon?”, said Hang in his live.
Hang’s gesture on Wednesday (30) recalls what he did in the 2018 elections. That year, he prepared an event in Brusque (SC), where the company’s headquarters are, to announce what he treated as his entry into politics. Without indicating the desired position and the party, he said that he left the MDB, being free to make choices.
He said at the time that he would actively participate in politics, whether or not he was a candidate. He did not run in 2018, but in these four years, he has positioned himself politically alongside President Bolsonaro.
In those days, the information circulated on the internet that, after putting himself at the disposal of politics, Hang would have been invited by the then deputy Jair Bolsonaro to be vice president of the candidacy.
