The market for adapting vehicles for functions such as police vehicles, ambulances and funeral homes turns its attention to electric cars and resumes investments after a period of bottlenecks caused by the pandemic.
Lourival Panhozzi, president of Abredif (Association of Companies and Directors of the Funeral Sector), says that the model brings advantages because it is quieter for the processions, in addition to the debate on the increase in fuel prices. The bet is that the electric should take off with the advancement of technology, when it becomes more accessible.
Affected by the lack of inputs in the automotive industry, such as the semiconductor crisis, which delayed the delivery of vehicles at the height of the Covid deaths, the sector is registering investments again.
Revolution Brasil, which received a contribution from an American fund last year and is opening a factory in the interior of São Paulo, expects to transform 1,650 vehicles per month, an increase of almost 300%.
According to the company, from August to December 2021, the volume of vehicles produced had already jumped by more than 30%.
The company says that the electric vehicle market should become a reality in a short time among the adapted ones, and the acquirers are in the learning phase about the model.
