An increase of 3.8% in arrivals and 3.9% in overnight stays recorded, in total of 2024 compared to 2023, at hotel accommodation and campsite and collective accommodation of short residence (rooms to let) the country.

According to ELSTAT’s survey, there is an increase in arrivals and overnight stays of foreigners by 4.2% and 4.1%, respectively, as well as an increase in arrivals and overnight stays by 2.8% and 2.7%, respectively.

The total fullness beds in hotel accommodation (except camping and short -lived collective accommodation) amounted to 50.6% compared to 54.7% in 2023.

The largest share of arrivals and nights is observed in hotel accommodation (79.4% and 76.4%, respectively).

The monthly distribution of the data shows that 56.9% of arrivals and 63.8% of overnight stays in hotel and camping accommodation and the country’s short residence accommodation is concentrated in July to October.

By periphery, The largest increase by ultimate arrivals rates is observed in the South Aegean regions (5.6% in arrivals and 8.2% in overnight stays), Central Macedonia (6% in arrivals and 5.9% in overnight stays), the Ionian Islands (5.6% in arrivals and 3.9% in overnight stays), Attica (3.3% in arrivals and 2.7%) arrivals and 0.6% in overnight stays).

The largest share of accommodation is equivalent to foreigners or 73.7% of total arrivals and 83.8% of total overnight stays.

The largest share of the arrivals and nights of foreigners in all accommodation is corresponding to tourists with a permanent residence country in Europe (80.4% of arrivals and 89.1% of overnight stays), with more significant contribution from Member States of the European Union (53.7% of 59%).

Germany (12.9% of arrivals and 16.3% of overnight stays) and France (6.6% of arrivals and 5.8% of overnight stays) are the highest percentage of arrivals. Of the rest of Europe, the United Kingdom (16% of arrivals and 18.8% of overnight stays) are the largest participation.

By comparing the elements of accommodation by tourists’ permanent residence in 2024 to 2023, The largest increase by ultimate prices of arrivals is observed for European Union countries from Italy (7.2% in arrivals and 10.7% in overnight stays), Poland (7.3% in arrivals and 12.6% in overnight stays) and Germany (1.8% in arrivals and 0.6% in overnight stays).

Of the rest of Europe, at absolute arrivals prices, there is an increase in the United Kingdom (7.6% in arrivals and 3.8% in overnight stays), Serbia (48.5% in arrivals and 45.1% in overnight stays) and Turkey (44.5% in arrivals and 54.9%).

Of the rest of the continents, at the excellent prices of arrivals, a significant increase is observed by Asia, and in particular the People’s Republic of China (32.3% in arrivals and 24% in overnight stays).
