Inflation: Jumped to 8% in March in Greece – At a new high in the Eurozone

Inflation in Greece jumped in March, reaching 8%, according to the first estimates of Eurostat.

According to the first estimates of Eurostat, in Greece inflation moved to 8% in March, as a result of the ongoing energy crisis, which has now affected all prices of consumer goods and services, seriously affecting the purchasing power of citizens.

The new leap comes after the “explosion” of inflation at 6.2% in February in our country.

At Eurozone level, inflation was close to 7.5% last month, up from 5.9% in February.

Looking at the main components of inflation in the eurozone, energy is expected to have its highest annual rate in March (44.7%, compared to 32% in February), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (5%, compared to 4). 2% in February), non-energy industrial goods (3.4%, compared to 3.1% in February) and services (2.7%, compared to 2.5% in February).
