by

The Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekasinformed in a letter to the electricity supply companies about the subsidy of the bills in April.

The letter states the following:

Household Invoices

• The subsidy concerns the main residences (approximately 4.2 million benefits) according to the income tax returns for the fiscal year 2020.

• The subsidy is granted to all beneficiaries of the Social Housing Invoice (CTO).

• For consumers who are contracted on floating electricity tariffs, the unit subsidy is set at:
o For the first 150 kWh of the month in the amount of 270 euros / MWh.
o For consumption from 151 to 300 kWh per month in the amount of 210 euros / MWh.

• The average monthly aid for an average household consuming up to 300 KWh / month increases by 80% in April compared to Marchfrom 40 euros to 72 euros.

• For the beneficiaries of Social Household Invoice, the unit subsidy is set at 290 euros / MWh for the first 300 kWh of consumption per month. The average monthly aid for the CTO from 53 euros in March increases to 87 euros in April.
Non-Household Invoices (agricultural, commercial, industrial, professional, other uses)

For professional consumersregardless of voltage level, which are contracted in floating tariffs, the unit subsidy doubles in April compared to March and stands at 130 euros / MWh for all monthly consumption.

• For professional consumers (professional, industrial, agricultural use) with power supply up to 35 kVA and for all bakeries regardless of power supply, the total consumption is subsidized in addition with 100 euros / MWh. Therefore, the total unit subsidy of these categories amounts to 230 euros / MWh. It is noted that the number of beneficiaries increases by 80,000, to 1,240,000, since it was initially announced that they will receive the additional subsidy of 100 euros / MWh small and medium enterprises with power supply up to 25 kVA.

Especially in the case of bakeriesthe electricity supply companies should receive from their customers data for the confirmation of the beneficiaries (certificate of relevant KAD, AFM, etc).

• The subsidy measure of the total consumption of electricity for professional consumers with power supply up to 35 kVA and for all bakeries, will apply retroactively for the consumption of January, February and March 2022.
