A significant significant increase of € 742 million was reported by household deposits in July, as opposed to the deposits of businesses that have dipped by € 1.89 billion, according to Bank of Greece data (BoG).

As a result, private sector deposits decreased by EUR 1,151 million at this time, compared to an increase of € 5,099 million they had recorded last month.

More specifically, according to BoG figures, the annual rate of change in total funding of the domestic economy was slightly accelerated and stood at 7.2%, in July 2025, from 7.0% last month.

In contrast, the annual rate of change of all deposits decreased to 5.6% in July 2025, from 6.3% last month.

Funding of domestic economy

In particular, the monthly net flow of total funding was negative by € 751 million in July 2025, compared to a positive net flow of EUR 2,650 million last month.

I.1 Funding of General Government

The monthly net flow of funding to the General Government in July 2025 was positive by 509m euros, against a negative net flow of € 93m last month. The annual rate of change in general government funding rose to 2.0% from 1.2% in the past month.

I.2 Private Sector Funding

In July 2025, the annual rate of change in total private sector funding remained unchanged at 10.5% compared to the previous month. The monthly net flow of total funding to the private sector was negative by € 1,260 million, compared to a positive net flow of EUR 2,743 million last month.

I.2.1 Business Financing

Regarding business funding, the monthly net flow, in July 2025, was negative by EUR 1,272 million, against a positive net flow of EUR 2,384 million last month, while the annual rate of change remained unchanged at 15.8% compared to the previous month.

In particular, the annual rate of change in non -financial funding (MSE) stood at 16.1% from 15.9% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of their funding was negative by EUR 1,109 million, against a positive net flow of EUR 2,049 million last month.

The annual rate of change in funding for insurance companies and other financial institutions decreased to 13.7% from 15.2% last month. The monthly net flow of their funding was negative by € 164 million, against a positive net flow of € 335 million last month.

I.2.2 Funding of freelancers, farmers and individual businesses

In July 2025, the monthly net flow of funding to freelancers, farmers and individual businesses was negative by € 68 million, against a positive net flow of € 67 million last month. The annual rate of change in their funding stood at -0.3%, unchanged compared to the previous month.

I.2.3 Funding of private and private non -profit institutions

EUR 81 million was the monthly net flow of funding to individuals and private non -profit institutions in July 2025, against a positive net flow of € 293 million last month. Their annual rate of change in funding stood at 0.7% from 0.5% in the previous month.

Deposits of domestic economy in domestic credit institutions

In the “front” of deposits, the monthly net flow of all deposits was negative by EUR 2,352 million in July 2025, against a positive net flow of EUR 6,588 million last month.

II.1 Deposits by the General Government

In July 2025, the General Government’s deposits decreased in July 2025, compared to € 1,489 million last month, and the annual change rate decreased to 21.7% from 34.4% last month.

II.2 deposits from the private sector

Private sector deposits decreased by EUR 1,151 million in July 2025, compared to an increase of EUR 5,099 million last month, while the annual rate of change stood at 5.1% from 5.3% last month.

II.2.1 Deposits by Business

Specifically, in July 2025, business deposits, compared to € 4,403 million in July 2025, and the annual change rate decreased to 9.9% from 12.0% in the previous month.

In particular, MXE deposits decreased by EUR 1,737 million, compared to an increase of EUR 4,363 million last month. Deposits of insurance companies and other financial institutions decreased by EUR 156 million, compared to an increase of EUR 40 million last month.

II.2.2 deposits from households and private non -profit institutions

On the contrary, an increase of EUR 742 million, in July 2025, was reported by households and private non -profit institutions, compared to an increase of EUR 697 million last month, and the annual rate of change increased to 3.5% from 3.1% in the previous month.
