The abolition of ENFIA in settlements of up to 1,500 inhabitants are foreseen by the government’s measures as specialized by the financial staff.

According to what has been announced, ENFIA is abolished over two years for the main residence in settlements of up to 1,500 inhabitants. This, as mentioned, benefits more than a million citizens who have their main residence in the villages of our country and concerns 12,720 settlements of a total of 13,585.

At the same time, as announced, VAT rates on the islands up to 20,000 residents are reduced by 30%. Today the reduced VAT is applied to 5 Aegean islands due to Migration Chios, Leros, Samos, Lesvos, Kos. Many others are added that is expected to be announced below.

This is a decrease in percentage- practically means that 24% for these islands become 17% and 13% becomes 9%.

In addition, a 25% intermediate rate is imported from 35% for incomes from 12,000 to 24,000 euros.

At the same time, the exemption of vacant real estate tax rented in 2027 is expanding, the VAT exemption is expanded to the new buildings for 2026 and the ban on new short -term leases in three Athens municipal districts is expanding.
