The number of audits carried out by the Labor Inspectorate this summer in tourism business, including hotels, restaurants, transport and travel agencies is increased by 10%.

More specifically, from June to August, 8,141 checks were carried out, compared to 7,405 in the same period last year. 1,652 fines were imposed, instead of 2,221 in the summer quarter of 2024, totaling EUR 6,366,105, from 7,362,959 euros last year.

Most checks (5,313) were made in businesses in the catering industry, where the highest sanctions were imposed: 1,137 fines of € 4.55 million. The hotels followed (2,142 checks, with 284 administrative penalties of € 1.5 million), transport (529 checks, 191 fines of 269,820 euros) and travel services (157 checks, with 40 sanctions of EUR 36,800).
