To 790,844 people amounted to all registered unemployed In the Registry of Public Employment Service (DEPA) in August 2025, recording a decrease of 52,698 (-6.2%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, August 2024, and a decrease of 4,744 (-0.6%) compared to the previous month, July 2025.

Of the total of 790,844 people, 423,784 (53.6%) are registered in the DBA register for a period of equal or more than 12 months and 367,060 (46.4%) registered in the DBA register for less than 12 months.

Men amounted to 243,813 people (30.8%) and women in 547,031 people (69.2%).

The 30-44-year-old age classed the largest number of registered unemployed among the age categories, which amounted to 249,964 (31.6%).

The training level of secondary education, including post -secondary education, garnered the largest number of registered unemployed among the educational levels, which amounted to 358,800 (45.4%).

Among the regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 281,559 (35.6%) and 158,793 (20.1%), respectively.

The total of subsidized unemployed in August 2025 (concerning the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 170,604 persons, of which 164,420 (96.4%) are common unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 6,184 (3.6%).

In particular, the number of subsidized unemployed in August 2025 amounted to 170,604 people, decreasing by 6,327 (-3.6%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, August 2024, and an increase of 59,656 (53.8%) compared to the previous month, 2025.

Men amounted to 51,119 people (30%) and women at 119,485 (70%).

Of the total subsidized unemployed, 132.249 (77.5%) are common, 1,551 (0.9%) are builders, 6,184 (3.6%) are seasonal tourism professions, 968 (0.6%) are seasonal (agricultural), 29,436 (17.3%) and 21%.
