At a special event hosted by AADE, the main results of the project “Creating capabilities in advanced approaches and tools based on risk assessment and tax audits in Greece” were presented, which was successfully completed by signaling an important step towards the Modernization of tax audits.

The project was funded by the European Union and implemented in the context of TSI through SG Reform, in collaboration with the Swedish Tax Authority (STA). Through this joint effort, the Independent Public Revenue Authority enhances its potentialadopting new technologies and methodologies. By utilizing artificial intelligence and large data analysis, AADE significantly increases its effectiveness in identifying high tax risk cases.

The main results of the project include, inter alia:

*Pilot Model of Artificial Intelligence and Mechanical Learning (Machine Learning): A system has been developed that allows the most targeted and efficient selection of tax audits.

*Adoption of risk analysis methodologies: New approaches have been applied to systematically evaluate tax risk, allowing control mechanisms to focus where there is greater risk.

* Treatment of modern forms of tax evasion: A special guide to monitoring and controlling e -commerce activities and cryptocurrencies was prepared, covering gaps that existed in these rapidly growing markets.

The event was welcomed by the Governor of AADE George Pitsilis And executives of the Independent Authority, as well as representatives from the European Union and the Swedish Tax Authority, participated.
