In the “waves” and through 3 different “channels” they will begin in October and until the beginning of the new year, the remuneration of private and civil servants will be adjusted upwards. On the one hand, the new payrolls and on the other the increase “by the side” from reduced deductions, as well as the new adjustment of the minimum wage will lead to earnings increased- in some cases- even over 300 euros per month!
The Authority will take place immediately with the October salaries of the uniforms, with the first “wave” of increases being activated: the new payroll for the Armed Forces and Security Forces executives are implemented, with the staff categories remaining four (A, B, C and D).
The new payroll for uniforms and benefits
In this way the uniforms (police, ports, firefighters, etc.) will have large increases due to special interventions.
So they will receive:
- Senior Officers: +276 euros per month on average
- Officers: +128 euros per month.
- Lower categories: +103 euros per month.
- To the police: Average increase of +111 euros, with fluctuations per grade (such as +236 euros for higher levels, +63 euros for special guards).
In addition to the differences in the wage structure that brings higher earnings, the responsibility allowance will also increase, which now amounts to EUR 750 for the Chief of General Staff, while for lower degrees ranging from 100 to 400 euros, with increases exceeding 50% in many cases.
In addition, a new administration allowance specifically for the Armed Forces executives, with the annual cost being estimated at € 5.4 million.
Wage increases through… slope
The next “wave” of earnings increases will come from January 1st Through the … slope and will concern both private and civil servants: the new tax scale limits bookings from the tax office and so employees will get more money “in hand”.
According to detailed examples, indirect wage increases will not be negligible, with the biggest winning employees who have a family with children.
In particular, an employee of the private sector if for example does not have children and his net earnings is 1,000 euros from January 1st he will see 12.52 euros a month more in his bank account. If his salary is at € 1,500 then the increase will be EUR 39.95 and if he has earnings of 2,000 euros, then the additional amount receives a month will be 70.35 euros.
In the case now, he has 2 children and his net earnings are 1,000 euros from January 1, he will see 16.82 euros a month more in his bank account. If his salary is at the level of EUR 1,500 then the increase will be 71.54 euros and if he has a earning of EUR 2,000, then the additional amount received monthly will be € 117.06.
Finally, if he has 4 children and his net earnings are 1,000 euros from January 1, he will see 13.8 euros a month more in his bank account. If his salary is at the level of € 1,500 then the increase will be 144.05 euros and if he has earnings of 2,000 euros, then the additional amount he receives a month will be € 209.03.
Adjustment of the minimum wage
The third “wave” Wage adjustment will come with the increase in the minimum wage in the private sector: from April 1, 2026, the minimum wage is expected to increase from € 880 to 920 euros, ie by 40 euros a month, with a net salary reaching 779 euros. If the employee is under 25, the gross will increase by 40 euros and net by 54 euros, because tax withholding will be zero.
Increase in minimum wage will also affect salaries in the public. Last year it was the first time that the increase in the minimum wage was expanded to the State and was the import wage for civil servants.
Public employees’ earnings will increase horizontally regardless of grade and specialty, depending on the amount of increase in the minimum wage.
The basic horizontal increase is estimated at 40 euros a month for all civil servants.
