Economy Minister Paulo Guedes said this Monday morning (4) that the government should announce, throughout 2022, the election year, new transfers of Union properties to the poorest in all regions of the country.
The announcement took place amid the signing of a technical cooperation agreement with the City of Rio de Janeiro, for the regularization of land ownership in two communities in Complexo da Maré (Parque União and Rubens Vaz) and the donation of a Union area to vulnerable families in the Parque favela. da Alegria, in the port region.
According to the federal government, more than 12,000 low-income families should benefit from land tenure regularization and the right to housing.
“Why stop at just transferring income? Why not reduce the levels of inequality in the country more quickly by transferring property that is often mistreated and with poor management? Why not transfer it to the most fragile?”, Guedes said at the ceremony, who took place at Christ the Redeemer.
Also present at the event were President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) and Governor Cláudio Castro (PL), in addition to other ministers and deputies.
There was also a mass and the celebration of a protocol of intentions and a Coexistence Agreement between Mitra Arquiepiscopal do Rio de Janeiro and ICMBio.
According to the government, the protocol involves mutual interest in the public planning of the park, in the preservation of the Conservation Unit’s biodiversity and in the mitigation of environmental impacts, in addition to the maintenance and accessibility of Morro do Corcovado and the Cristo Redentor Sanctuary.
In his speech, Bolsonaro gave a nod to religious groups, saying that the country belongs to God and that his government “believes in God, defends the family and owes loyalty to its people”.
“The faith that saved us in the past elected us and keeps us alive in government to this day. If it wasn’t for God, how would we resist so much adversity with much of the press against us?”
