The Bank of Greece has identified other systemic institutions (Other Systemically Important Institutions (O -SII) in Greece for 2025.

In particular, they were identified as an O-SII on a consolidated basis for the institutions: Alpha Bank SA, National Bank of Greece SA, Piraeus Financial Holdings SA and Eurobank Ergasias Services and participation SA, and on an individual basis: and Eurobank Bank SA

It also set the percentage of the O-SII security reserve for 2026 at 1.25% for the Eurobank Ergasias and participation Foundation SA. On a consolidated basis and 1% for institutions: Alpha Bank SA On an individual and unified base, National Bank of Greece SA On an individual and unified base, Piraeus Financial Holdings SA on a consolidated basis, Piraeus Bank SA On an individual basis, and Bank of Eurobank SA On an individual basis, with a date of entry into force on 1 January 2026.

The methodology, applied by the Bank of Greece to determine O-SII and to determine the O-SII security reserve, is imprinted in the practice of Executive Committee 221/1/17.10.2023 (Government Gazette B 6141).

According to this methodology, a score is calculated that implies the systemic significance of each institution based on specific criteria, which relate to the size, the importance of the economy of Greece and the European Union, the importance of cross -border activities, including the complexity of cross -border activities, as well as cross -border activities.

These four criteria correspond to compulsory indicators, which are used at least to calculate the score of each institution, expressed in base units (MB). Those institutions exceeds 350 MB. (scoring threshold) are considered O-SII because of their systemic importance.
