Grants that cover up to 80% of the remuneration of employees they hire can claim private sector employers: the maximum amount of aid reaches up to EUR 1,004 per month and is granted for 18 months. The aim of the program is to create 5,000 new full -time jobs for people over 50 in businesses doing regular economic activity.

This program is ‘open’ for submitting applications and businesses that will employed unemployed aged 50 and over in new jobs will receive a grant from 50% to 80% of total cost (salary and insurance contributions), depending on the category of the unemployed. The maximum monthly grant amount is set at EUR 1,004.80 for 18 months.

The process of submitting applications

Interested companies can submit their application exclusively electronically through:

  • of the E-Services platform of DBA (dypa.gov.gr) or
  • of Gov.gr, at: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/epikheirematike-drasterioteta/apaskholeseprosopikou/summetokhe-epikheireseon-ergodoton-se-programmata-katartises-anergon

After submitting the application, DBA’s work advisers will propose to the business candidates with the required qualifications.
The total budget of the program is € 73,476,000, covered by DBA resources.

Beneficiaries are private businesses and general employers who are regularly working on economic activity and the unemployed, registered in the DBA unemployed register, over 50 years old.

The grant to the business concerned

If the business selects the De Minimis regime, it should not have a staff reduction in the last quarter and have not received state aid of more than € 300,000 in the past 3 years.

If it chooses the status of the Command Regulation (GAK), it should not have reduced its staff in the last 12 months and have not received a state aid of more than € 5,500,000.

The GAK’s beneficiaries belong to two categories:

People in disadvantaged position: 1) Unemployed who in the last six months before their suggestion had not been employed in regular paid employment or 2) unemployed graduates of compulsory education who did not complete secondary education or did not attend vocational training.

People in particularly disadvantaged position: 1) Unemployed who in the last 24 months before their suggestion had not been employed in regular paid employment or 2) unemployed who in the last 12 months before their suggestion had not been employed in regular paid employment and belonging to the “persons”.

  • If the business selects the regime de minimisthe grant duration is 18 months.
  • If the regime selects GAKthe duration of the grant is 12 months (for the recruitment of unemployed at a disadvantage) or 18 months (for the recruitment of people at a particularly disadvantaged position).
  • If business selects the regime De Minimis State Aidthe grant amount is:

(a) 80% of wage and non -wage costs for the recruitment of long -term unemployed, men and women, registered more than 36 months in the DIPPA Digital Registry), ie € 1,004.80 monthly,
(b) at 65% of wage and non -wage costs to hire unemployed women, ie 816.40 € monthly, and
(c) 50% for the recruitment of unemployed men, ie € 628.00 monthly.

  • If the company chooses GAK State aid regime, the grant is 50% of the wage and non -wage costs, with a maximum of € 1,000.00 monthly.
  • The grant includes Christmas and Easter gifts and leave allowance.

  • Businesses choose the state aid status and determine the number of positions, specialties and qualifications required.
  • The DBA confirms that the business meets the conditions, and the work advisers indicate the business candidates in accordance with the required vacancy qualifications.
  • The business selects among the candidates and hires the unemployed.
