Mauro Ricardo Costa, who was Secretary of Budget, Management and Projects for João Doria in the government of São Paulo between 2020 and 2021, returned to visit Palácio dos Bandeirantes during the management of the now governor Rodrigo Garcia.
With his presence, the hypothesis that has been circulating in recent days would be that he would occupy the Secretary of Government, which was held by Rodrigo Garcia until last month, or the Secretary of Finance after Henrique Meirelles left.
Among the possibilities to replace Meirelles, some of the names studied are also Felipe Salto, executive director of the IFI (Independent Fiscal Institution), Gustavo Ley, who was once coordinator of tax administration, and Tomás Bruginski de Paula, executive secretary of folder.
In May 2020, Doria decided to create the Secretariat of Budget, Management and Projects to be occupied by Mauro Ricardo Costa, who had just left the city hall of the capital of São Paulo. The measure removed functions from Henrique Meirelles and Rodrigo Garcia himself at the time.
Mauro Ricardo was taken to the government by José Serra during Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s administration. He took on several posts, from the Manaus Free Trade Zone, the National Health Foundation, the Salvador Department of Finance and the government of Paraná.
