“Letter” from AADE to 75,000 car owners who did not pay road taxes in 2016 | SKY

by

Letters to 75,000 vehicle owners who “forgot” to pay the road tax of 2016, are sent digitally by the Independent Public Revenue Authority.

These are owners who, while their vehicles were pre-filled in the tax return of that year, did not pay the fees, nor did they follow the prescribed procedure for the deletion of the vehicle, in case for any reason it was not then in their possession or was in immobility.

With the letter, they are given the opportunity, from Friday morning, through myCAR, to state, until November 22, the reason why there may be no obligation to pay traffic fees for 2016, attaching the relevant supporting documents.

If they do not submit the above statement on time or the supporting documents do not prove the lack of obligation to pay traffic fees for 2016, then they pay the fees of 2016 twice, as provided by law.

After November 22, the submission of a declaration of non-debt of road taxes and the submission of the relevant supporting documents will be possible only at the Tax Office. However, the overdue deposit at the Tax Office does not guarantee that the double fees will not be confirmed. If the supporting documents show a lack of obligation to pay traffic fees, the certified amounts are deleted.
