The Federal Public Ministry asked iFood for an explanation this Monday (18) about the alleged campaign to demobilize couriers’ movements on social networks, using fake profiles.
According to the MPF, iFood must provide information, within 15 days, on the content of the report published in early April by Agência Pública.
The two communication agencies that would have been hired by the delivery application, Benjamim Comunicação and Social Qi, were also called to provide clarifications within the same period. They must present copies of documents and contracts signed with iFood to the agency, in addition to not manipulating or excluding profiles used in marketing actions.
“The investigation will be able to demonstrate whether the campaign violated the constitutional right of access to information by manipulating the understanding of facts, by couriers and consumers, simulating spontaneous participation in public debate on the internet”, says the MPF in a statement released.
According to the report by Agência Pública, the alleged campaign created by the companies Benjamim Comunicação and Social QI for iFood included the creation of fake profiles, without visible identification with the agencies or with the application, which were used to criticize movements such as the Apps Breque. , launched in July 2020 to claim better working conditions.
