The news of the purchase of Twitter by billionaire Elon Musk, for US$ 44 billion, generated intense repercussion, inside and outside the network.
For the world’s richest man, the takeover has little to do with the economics, but it is a way of reversing the social network’s policies of moderation — which he often criticizes.
Among the changes promised by the entrepreneur are closing the company’s capital, ending bots and making the platform’s algorithm public. According to him, this would make Twitter an environment of freer expression.
This Wednesday’s Café da Manhã (27) talks with Ronaldo Lemos, director of the Institute of Technology and Society of Rio de Janeiro and columnist for Sheet. He talks about Twitter’s troubles today, Musk’s speech and what could change under the billionaire’s stewardship.
