Guedes authorizes negotiation of agreement with strikers for hours compensation

Minister Paulo Guedes (Economy) signed an ordinance authorizing his special secretaries to sign agreements with civil servants to compensate for hours not worked due to stoppages. Striking employees can thus avoid a salary discount.

The decision was published this Thursday (5) in the Official Gazette. According to the government, the standard meets the recommendations of the TCU (Union Court of Auditors).

“This action also aims to prevent irregularities in the compensation of hours of the period not worked by some servers, as verified by the TCU, between 2017 and 2018, and by the Superior Court of Justice (STJ)”, he added in a note.

The publication takes place in the midst of a series of public service mobilizations. In the Ministry of Economy, employees of the National Treasury, the Federal Revenue and other areas have carried out stoppages and standard operations for salary readjustments and other demands.

For the president of Fonacate (Permanent National Forum for Typical State Careers), Rudinei Marques, the measure does not bring significant changes.

“For now, not much changes. The ordinance only facilitates agreements to compensate for hours not worked”, he said.
