Panel SA: XP to launch program to hire blacks in offices of self-employed agents

by

XP will launch in the coming weeks an exclusive investment advisor training program for black people.

In addition to training, the company promises to cover the costs of certification required to work in a financial career and direct professionals to select vacancies in the autonomous offices of the XP partner network.

The initiative takes place after the photo episode of Ável Investimentos, a Rio Grande do Sul office of autonomous agents linked to XP that went viral on social networks in August, when it published the image of a team made up of dozens of white and young men. The company was criticized and questioned in court for its non-diversity hiring policy.

For Marta Pinheiro, ESG director at XP, the training project can be compared to a trainee program.

“At XP, we don’t have the vision of trainees. Our main audience is the advisors. They are the ones who serve clients directly, who have contact talking about investment. It’s training in the financial market. And there’s a barrier to entry, you have to pay for certification, take the courses,” says Pinheiro.

According to the company, 600 places will be opened for courses in the program, called Vem Transformar. Those who pass the Ancord test (National Association of Brokers and Distributors of Securities, Exchange and Commodities), a necessary condition to be an autonomous agent, will proceed to the selective processes of the offices.

The target audience is young people, but if older candidates or professionals interested in changing their careers appear, there will be no restriction.

“Without a doubt, we want other photos to appear with people all over Brazil,” says the executive, who is betting on the expansion of XP’s advisors network spread across several states to boost regional diversity.
