Magalu will return money to anyone who buys books by black authors; see list

by

Magazine Luiza will give 100% cashback —full return on the money spent on the purchase—to those who purchase books by black authors on Black Awareness Day, celebrated tomorrow, on the retailer’s app.

More than 50 titles were selected by Magalu for the action, including “Torto Arado”, by Itamar Vieira Junior, a work awarded with the Jabuti Prize in 2020, and the two volumes of “Casa de Alvenaria”, by Carolina Maria de Jesus

“The objective of the action is to give visibility to the vast production of black national authors”, said, in a note, Ana Luiza Herzog, corporate manager of Reputation and Sustainability at Magalu.

Promotional purchase is valid for only one book per order. The cashback —money back, when the term is translated into Portuguese— will be deposited in the buyer’s virtual wallet on Magalu Pay, a platform managed by the network.

With Magalu Pay, the buyer of one of the books on the list will be able to use the money returned to make new purchases at Magazine Luiza, pay consumption bills —such as electricity, water and telephone bills— and make transfers to other users of the platform.
