by

The medical experts of the INSS announced this Friday (20) the end of the strike, with the resumption of care for beneficiaries of the institute from this Monday (23). According to the ANMP (National Association of Medical Experts), all 18 claims in the category were accepted by the federal government.

According to the experts, in the agreement signed by representatives of the category and by the Minister of Welfare, José Carlos Oliveira, it was established that, if the readjustment of the servers is linear for the entire civil service, the experts will receive the same index.

“If the government chooses to give differentiated increases to one or another category, our salary recomposition will be 19.99%”, says Francisco Eduardo Cardoso Alves, vice president of ANMP.

The agreement also guaranteed the full and immediate return of the amounts deducted from the striker – about 70% of the category, according to the ANMP. Compensation for days not worked will be done in person or remotely, according to the employee’s own option, for eight months.

During the 52 days of stoppage, more than 320,000 forensic examinations were rescheduled. Altogether, as Folha anticipated, more than 1 million policyholders are on the INSS medical examination queue, according to information from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

The ministry has committed to guaranteeing a maximum of 12 face-to-face consultations per day for each expert.

“In the current context, it was a very big victory. We were respected again and not only that. The ministry returned to be aligned with the association after a winter of almost two years”, said Alves in a broadcast on YouTube to the servers.

Medical expertise is mandatory for the granting of accident assistance, temporary disability assistance —former sickness allowance—, and permanent disability pension —former disability pension.

There are also other benefits, such as BPC (Continued Benefit), retirement for people with disabilities and special retirement, which require the analysis of a doctor.
