Ex-girlfriend of Johnny Depp, the British top model Kate Moss, 48, will participate, this Wednesday (25), the trial for defamation of the actor against Amber Heard. According to the New York Post, Moss will be called by Depp’s lawyers and will testify via video link.
The model’s name was brought up by Heard, who recounted a March 2015 fight in which she punched Depp in the face for fear he would push her sister Whitney down the stairs. Heard said that she immediately thought of “Kate Moss and the stairs”.
Moss and Depp dated from 1994 to 1997, and during this period there was a rumor – never confirmed by her – that he pushed her down a flight of stairs in an argument.
Depp’s lawyers cheered when Heard, 36, suddenly mentioned Moss during his deposition weeks ago. According to the NY Post, they even “clapped their hands” at this time.
The model was not originally expected to attend the trial, but the mention of Heard paved the way for Depp’s team to call her to testify and thus clear up the stairwell story once and for all, dispel the rumor and challenge Depp’s statements. Amber.
The actor is suing Heard for defamation, asking for $50 million over an article she wrote in The Washington Post in which she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. She sued him back, asking for double that amount.
The legal dispute between Amber and Depp has been broadcast live on American TV and is one of the most engaged subjects on the networks at the moment. The trial is scheduled to end this Friday, May 27th.
