Tech billionaire Elon Musk, 50, commented on social media on Friday (27) about the legal fight between actors Johnny Depp, 58, and Amber Heard, 36. He responded to a post from a podcast host on Twitter commenting on the defamation trial.
“I hope they both move on. At their best, each of them is amazing,” wrote Musk, who had a short relationship with Heard, was cited and listed as a witness in the trial for donating $1 million (about Rs. $4.8 million) to charity honoring the actress.
Heard confirmed in court the ex-boyfriend’s donation to two entities after Depp’s lawyer accused her of wanting to keep part of the US$ 7 million (about R$ 33.2 million) he received in the separation. The actress had made a promise to pass on the amount to charity.
Musk, according to Depp, claimed at trial, would be the biological father of Amber’s daughter. The child was conceived through a surrogate, which is allowed in the United States. Depp said he had clues that would lead to proof that Musk was the sperm donor.
On Friday (27), after six weeks, the lawyers of the two actors made the closing arguments and the jurors met for a few hours. But the jury stopped deliberations on the defamation lawsuit and is due to reconvene on Tuesday (31) in Fairfax court, in Virginia, in the United States.
