Globo announces two new Globoplay soap operas

After the success of “Verdades Secretas II”, Globoplay’s first original soap opera, the platform decided to bet on new plots and announced this Monday (30) not only the second but the third work of the streaming: “All Flowers”, by João Emanuel Carneiro, and “Warriors of the Sun”, a plot written by the authors George Moura and Sergio Golderberg.

With its premiere scheduled for October, “All Flowers”, which until then had the provisional title of “An Eye for an Eye”, tells the story of Maíra (Sophie Charlotte), a visually impaired young woman mistreated by her own mother, Zoe (Regina Casé ). Fábio Assunção, Letícia Colin, Caio Castro and Nicolas Prattes are other names in the cast. The plot will have 85 chapters and will be divided into two parts: the first available between October and December 2022, and the second, between April and June 2023.

“Guerreiros do Sol” is a retelling of the story of the couple Lampião and Maria Bonita and should only enter the platform in 2024. “The idea is that we launch a soap opera a year on Globoplay, counting on the creation and production expertise of the Estúdios Globo”, explained Érick Brêtas, director of Digital Products and Paid Channels.

Bretas also highlighted the importance of the telenovela market also on platforms. “Soap operas are undoubtedly a national passion of our audience, who find in streaming a new consumer experience”, he added.
