Monark defends Gusttavo Lima amid controversy: ‘Unfairly cancelled’

by

Youtuber Bruno Aiub, 31, known as Monark, took to Twitter to defend singer Gusttavo Lima, 32. The countryman did a live this Tuesday (31) and said he was about to “throw in the towel”, after a series of suspicions in hiring by city halls for shows.

“Gusttavo Lima is being unfairly canceled”, wrote the youtuber on his profile. The tweet already has more than 16,700 likes and 2,300 comments, in which several internet users debated and disagreed with each other about Monark’s opinion.

Lima is the subject of an investigation by the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro due to the hiring of a show in Magé, 100 kilometers from the state capital, for R$ 1 million. The investigation investigates whether there were irregularities in the negotiation.

During the live, the singer denied irregularities and asked for caution in the investigations, but admitted that he charges city halls the same amount as private contractors and said that the only thing he has to sell is his art. Lima even cried as he spoke.

“We pay our bills with this, we put food on our table through talent,” he said. “It’s not because it’s a city hall that I’m going to stop charging my amount. I have bills, employees to pay.”
